I went to Liuzhou last week to investigate the industry and always wanted to make an evaluation. Now I finally find some time.
Liuzhou is located in the southwest. The manufacturing industry of the surrounding cities is relatively weak and the geographical conditions are not very good. It is difficult for the supply chain to form a regional echo, which also determines that this place is a hard life and must rely on self-reliance. There are many wizards here, such as SAIC GM Wuling and LMZ. In history, the commercial port of Liuzhou was also very busy. Relying on commerce and trade, it has formed its own industrial characteristics. In history, the pharmaceutical and charcoal burning industries were very developed. The latter is a very interesting industry, which is directly related to the Taiping rebellion. The Opium War led to a large influx of foreign iron products into Guangdong. As a result of the first industrial revolution, British industrialized iron products directly dried up the fragile local handmade ironware; Local blacksmiths rely on charcoal burners in Guangxi. When the national iron products industry collapsed, so did the manual charcoal burning industry in Guangxi. The people have no means of livelihood, and naturally things happen. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom took place in Jintian village, Guangxi, because there are mature charcoal burning organizations here. Therefore, organized farmers must not be provoked. In those years, Li Zicheng's uprising was to launch the postmen's uprising. Therefore, Emperor Chongzhen abolished folk mail roads in order to save money, which were organized. So Li Zicheng succeeded in one fell swoop.
A place's contemporary manufacturing industry is actually easy to find a clear historical roots. Maybe you can recall the past by looking back on a Jiazi, or even 100 years. Charcoal burning industry is developed and carpentry is also developed. Liuzhou is a famous coffin producing area, "eat in Guangzhou, play in Hangzhou and die in Liuzhou"; During the Qing Dynasty, Liuzhou pharmaceutical industry was very developed. Therefore, the famous Golden throat throat treasure and LMZ toothpaste are not surprising.
Thanks to the military preparation needs of Guangxi warlord Li Zongren and Xiao Zhuge Bai Chongxi, a relatively developed military industry has been formed here during the period of the Republic of China. Because the New Guangxi Clique wanted to move its capital to Liuzhou at that time, it invested heavily in machinery, making Liuzhou quickly become the "industrial center of Guangxi". After liberation, Liuzhou's industrial ecology has been relatively perfect.
There are three major events in the industrial history of Liuzhou, which demonstrate the love and foresight of Guangxi leaders for industry. At that time, the state carried out the national industrialization layout according to the 156 project assisted by the Soviet Union, which has been in full swing, but there was no Guangxi Province. At the meeting of Nanning Political Bureau in 1958, the then governor proposed to the Central Committee the proposal of "heavy industrialization in Guangxi", and successfully implemented 45 national projects, distributed to Nanning, Guilin and Liuzhou. This is the famous industrialization "Nanning conference", which has made a good start for the development of industry in Guangxi. Later, only Liuzhou inherited this heritage very well. Three of the top ten projects: Liuzhou Iron and steel plant, power machinery plant and construction machinery plant are still the pillar industries of Liuzhou this year. Power Machinery Factory is the predecessor of Shanghai GM Wuling, a geek in the automotive industry. At present, the industrial output value of Liuzhou accounts for a quarter of that of the whole province.
The second thing is that Liuzhou has established an industrial museum. As early as 2009, the leaders of the municipal Party Committee began to build the industrial museum and wrote a letter to the entrepreneurs of the city to encourage the donation of various machinery and equipment. The first sentence is, "Liuzhou is a city connected with industrial blood and sharing weal and woe". Knock the gong and listen to the sound, and the hammer will move. For a time, various enterprises donated one after another, which not only made it the largest industrial museum in China, but also completed the historical blood of a city or even a country. This also enables us to witness the development history of national industry for more than 100 years. Behind it is the epitome of the whole country's industry. I have been to Changzhou, an important industrial town. There is also a small exhibition hall just opposite the municipal government. But the content is sparse and lacking. In terms of history and culture, it is really lack of precipitation and can not reflect the former Shengrong of Changzhou. Regrettable.
It is hard to imagine that in the 1970s, Liuzhou's industry was very active, including electronics, hydropower equipment, textiles and so on. It is this industrial ecology of light industry and heavy industry that has created the active creativity of Liuzhou industry. The most common is that enterprises make their own equipment. For example, Liuzhou Construction Machinery Factory makes its own old eight inch lathe; Liuzhou air compressor manufactures boring machines for machining cylinder blocks; Liuzhou Machinery factory manufactures double-sided milling machines by itself. Liuzhou Power Plant has built a giant of 200000 kW steam turbine IP rotor. Without a complete ecology, it is hard to imagine that an enterprise can manufacture such complex machinery and equipment by itself.
The third thing is to attach importance to talents. It is conceivable that there is a shortage of talents in Liuzhou. As early as 1985, the municipal government began to use various methods to introduce talents from outside. At that time, the most famous three don't: don't file, don't salary relationship, don't length of service. This was a huge sensation at that time. At that time, the head of SAIC GM Wuling became a model for introducing talents by riding a bicycle. Now Shangtong five accounts for almost half of the output value of Liuzhou. How to deal with the current shortage of talents? The R & D team has adopted the method of mixed fleet, most of which are their own. Another part is to establish an in-depth team cooperation mechanism with Shanghai Jiaotong University, Wuhan University of technology, Hunan University, etc. This method brings fresh external blood to Shangtong five. Hongguang of Shangtong five can become a national God car. Hongguang Mini in September was listed and topped the list of electric vehicles last month. In fact, there is a profound routine behind it. "Wuling will make whatever the people need." Behind it is the strong flexible manufacturing capability and the creativity of talents. Liuzhou Construction Machinery Factory has invested heavily in the construction of Engineering Testing Center, attracting people everywhere and showing a high degree of respect for talents. During the discussion with local enterprises, the young people of Dongfeng Liuqi spoke frequently, and their strong desire for expression and communication left a deep impression of vitality. However, with the rise of manufacturing industry in the east coast, Liuzhou's industry has shown obvious fatigue. The most worrying thing is that the ecology here has lacked the prosperity of the past. Manufacturing profits as thin as blades are hurting the interdependence of the industrial chain. For Liuzhou, when it is difficult to complement from an urban agglomeration similar to the "integration of the Yangtze River Delta", the best way is the linkage and self rescue of a city's supply chain. Building a new type of partnership may be the most important work of Liuzhou industry in the next step.
